PARAMARIBO— Yesterday, U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson released the 2016 Report on International Religious Freedom during a public event at the Department of State in Washington, D.C.
The Annual Report on International Religious Freedom covers government policies violating the religious beliefs and practices of groups, religious denominations and individuals, as well as U.S. policies to promote religious freedom around the world. The report contains an introduction, executive summary, and a chapter describing the status of religious freedom in each of 195 countries throughout the world.
The Report on International Religious Freedom is public document. It is mandated by, and presented to, the U.S. Congress each year.
