PARAMARIBO – On January 17, 2018, Ambassador Edwin Nolan signed a Memorandum of Understanding with TBL Cinemas. Under the terms of this agreement, the U.S. Embassy’s American Corner Movie Night Program will move from the Eddy Wessels Theater (adjacent to the Cultural Center Suriname) to TBL Cinemas.
The move to TBL Cinemas allows our audience to enjoy their viewing experience in a modern cinema facility. During the signing ceremony TBL Cinemas CEO Erwin Emanuels expressed his pleasure in hosting the American Corner Movie Night Program and noted that it enables TBL Cinemas to fulfill its goal to make the cinema experience accessible to everyone.
It is important to note that the American Movie Night screenings will remain on the fourth Thursday and Friday of the month, remain free of charge, and open to all.
The American Corner remains at the Cultural Center Suriname. Its newly remodeled first floor location will open shortly.
