U.S. Ambassador Signs MOU at Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to Open the Newly Remodeled American Corner

PARAMARIBO – On March 15, 2018, Ambassador Edwin Nolan signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Cultural Center Suriname (CCS).  Under the terms of this agreement, the U.S. Embassy renews its ongoing cooperation with CCS.  At the same time, Ambassador Nolan officiated at a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open the new American Corner location on the ground floor of CCS.

The American Corner’s new ground floor location will help to increase its visibility, make it more accessible to the Surinamese public, as well as provide a larger space in which to host outreach programs.  Equally important, the new location will make the American Corner a better space in which Surinamese students may study and conduct research about the United States and world events.  All American Corner programming is offered free of charge to the Surinamese public.

We are proud of the newly remodeled ground floor American Corner location. Through its programs and events, the American Corner serves to build bridges and increase understanding between the people of Suriname and the United States.
