Security Message: Planned Demonstration at the U.S. Embassy on December 17, 2017

A demonstration is expected to take place at the U.S. Embassy on Sunday, December 17.  The U.S. Embassy does not have information on the time and duration of the demonstration.  The group will be demonstrating with the stated purpose of protesting the U.S. recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence.  U.S. citizens should avoid the area around the U.S. Embassy during the demonstration and remain alert in the area before and after the demonstration.
