Message to U.S. Citizens: U.S. Embassy Paramaribo

Location: Suriname and French Guiana

Event: Limited Availability of Consular Services June 27 through July 29, 2022.

Please note that due to staffing changes during the aforementioned period, American Citizen Services (ACS) and Nonimmigrant visa (NIV) application interviews may be delayed or unavailable.

We encourage all routine American Citizen Services applications (first time passports or renewals, Consular Report of Birth Abroad applications, and notarials) to be applied for on or before Friday, June 24, 2022. We will resume regular appointments after July 29, 2022.

Please contact the U.S. Embassy Consular section at caparamar@state.gov if you have difficulty making a routine ACS appointment.

The Consular section will continue to open NIV interview and Interview Waiver appointments through Thursday, June 23, 2022, and resume after July 29, 2022.

Please consult the Visas information on our website at Visas – U.S. Embassy in Suriname (usembassy.gov) for information on applying for an NIV, including Interview Waiver cases.
