Surinam Airways (SLM) has announced that it intends to operate a charter flight from Paramaribo to Miami. To have an overview of demand for this route, SLM requests that passengers register via one of the Surinam Airways accredited travel agents or the Surinam Airways Ticketing Office. They may be reached in Suriname at +597 432700 or callcenter@flyslm.com, or in the United States at +1-305-599-1196 or slmmiami@flyslm.com. The flight to Miami is for U.S. citizens or passengers with a valid visa. The flight to Paramaribo is for Surinamese nationals, Surinamese citizens with a resident permit or PSA card. Registration is possible from August 7 to 11, 2020. The fare and charter date will be provided by SLM.

KLM has announced that it will operate several flights per week from Paramaribo to Amsterdam. U.S. citizens are permitted to transit Schiphol airport, remain airside, and continue onward to the United States. However, passengers will not be permitted to exit the transit area. Passengers should have a confirmed onward flight to the U.S. prior to commencing travel. For further information about these flights or to book tickets, please visit www.klm.com.

The Government of Suriname has instituted a nationwide curfew between the hours of 21:00-05:00 as a countermeasure to the spread of COVID-19. The curfew will remain in place up to and including August 10, 2020. It is mandatory to wear face masks in public, maintain 1.5 meters of social distance, and regularly disinfect your hands. Public gatherings are limited to five people.
